When you think of a virtual enterprise, you think of a business that operates completely online, selling merchandise. This experience is offered to students at Dos Palos High School through a hands-on course in which they create a business and travel to compete in trade shows.
This year, students in the virtual enterprise class have come up with an innovative product and business called “Aurovia.” Their motto is “Stay cool, stay limitless, stay Aurovia.”
Mara Torres is the Chief Executive Officer, Samuel Salazar is the Chief Technology Officer, Galilea Jara is the Chief Human Resources Officer and many more to name.
These individuals designed everything, including the website, product, name, logo, social media pages and so much more. They also calculated revenue streams, gross margin, startup costs and even sales projections.
The name Aurovia comes from two Latin-derived words, aura, meaning cool breeze, and via, meaning highway or road, which symbolize the veins and carotids.[1]
Aurovia is a smart cooling product that is supposed to provide instant cooling to the body, enhance user experience, and be an environmentally friendly product.
There are two products: one is a neck cooler that primarily targets the carotid arteries in order to help your body stay cooler. The other product is a watch that targets the blood vessels for a more minimal body cool.
The watch has a twenty-five-hour battery life, while the neck cooler has a battery life of twenty hours. These products are brought to consumers from Aurovia to solve the problem of overheating, primarily in agricultural workers.
This product was introduced as a solution for agricultural workers to combat the heat while they worked.
As students from the central region of California, they have seen how the heat affects agricultural workers and have found a solution to it. Aurovia products range from $20 to $30, which is very affordable for any individual.
Aurovia’s first competition will be held at the Western Fall online trade show on Nov. 17, where they will present their business and product. Their first in-person trade show will not be until Feb. 4-5, 2026, when they will travel to Bakersfield to compete against other schools.
The Latin word for this is “aura,” so I am thinking that we may have the name of the company wrong?
