After writing for The Westside Express for over a year, it is now my time to say goodbye.
During my junior year in high school I had the privilege to take journalism, giving me the amazing opportunity to write for the local paper. I began writing for The Westside Express the summer before my senior year.
On top of taking AP classes, managing sports and hobbies and partaking in social activities to have a successful senior year, writing for the newspaper was a challenge that well paid off.
I learned a lot about what it takes to be a journalist, from the technique of writing an article to even getting over the painful anxiety of talking to someone over the phone, I was able to improve my writing skills and social skills over the short course of the year.
Since graduating from Los Banos High School, I will be continuing my education at the University of California Irvine and will major in English.
I am beyond excited for this new chapter of my life to begin and beyond grateful for everything that working for The Westside Express has taught me to incorporate in my everyday life as a soon to be college student.
