The 2025-26 high school wrestling season is in full swing, and it will culminate in section and state championships in late February.

Since Christmas Vacation began, the Firebaugh Eagles have been at their school for their annual Christmas Wrestling Camp. Wrestling alums will worked with both high school grapplers as well as youngsters.

This coming weekend, Coach Bill Magnusson and his squad will be spending the New Year’s holidays in Caruthers for the annual Don Olson Bash, which will be held at the Caruthers Fairgrounds.

After winning the small schools division at the recent Madera Hammer tournament, the girls and junior varsity will wrestle this Friday and the varsity boys will go at it on Saturday.

When the school year returns in January, the Eagles will host their annual Westside Invitational. The tournament has expanded and the girls division will take place on January 15th. The junior varsity boys will compete on Friday, January 16th, and the varsity portion will start early on Saturday, January 16th.

High schools from all over the Central Valley as well as the Central Coast will be competing in the clash.
