With the conclusion of the 2025 CCC league softball season, the Los Banos Tiger girls softball team qualified for the Sac-Joaquin section playoffs and a date with the Ceres Bulldogs.

The Tigers traveled to Ceres on Thursday, May 15 and came home with a 10-8 first round playoff victory over the Bulldogs.

The Tigers took a 3-0 first inning lead only to have the Bulldogs tie the score with three runs of their own. Los Banos retook the lead with two more runs in the top of the second inning, but Ceres erupted for four runs in their half of the second inning to take a 7-5 early lead.

Each team scored one run in the fifth inning, and Ceres took an 8-6 lead into the late innings.

But then in the top of the sixth inning the Tigers scored four more runs to regain the lead at 10-8 and held off the Bulldogs in the final two Ceres at bats to claim the high scoring victory.

Shay Hernandez paced the Tiger offense going 2 for 4, with four big RBIs.

Leadoff batter Avery Vierra (3 BB’s) scored three runs for Los Banos, and Grace Orozco (3 AB, 1 H. 3 R, 2 RBI’s) and Maliyah Salas (4 AB, 2 H, 1 RBI), Mia Arista (3 AB, 1H) all contributed to the victory for the locals, and a trip to the second round of the Sac-Joaquin section tournament 

Then the Tigers had to travel all the way up to Placer to play the Placer Hillmen and saw their 2025 softball season end with a 10-1 loss to Placer.
