On Sept. 15, for the first time in three years, the freshman football teams from both Pacheco and Los Banos high schools took to the turf at Loftin Stadium. It was all Panthers that night with Pacheco shutting out the young Tigers, 50-0.

Panther running back Julian Flores had a monster game for Pacheco, scoring three touchdowns on runs of 38, 3 and 23 yards; and adding three two-point conversions.

Jacob Sanchez scampered 50 yards for another Panther score, and Pacheco’s quarterback Jacob Sanchez connected on touchdown passes to Ondre Cobian and Ezekiel Silva to complete the scoring in the game.

On defense, Zackary Perkins, Jacob Sanchez, Justin Ulate and Bryan Villa were all over the field for the Panthers.

While the Los Banos offense could not muster much in this game, there were some fine individual defensive performances for the Tigers. Joseph Villagrana, Udaidot Gakhal and Zander Gonzalaez each collected five tackles for Los Banos.

:Los Banos freshman quarterback, Carmello Smith, center, fumbles the football as he’s being tackled by Pacheco players, Zack Perkins #79, and Justin Ulate #52.
