The Eagle Wall of Honor committee awarded $3,000 worth of academic scholarships. The 2023 recipients are:
Barbara Alaniz, daughter of Jose Alaniz and Rosa Molina. She will be attending, San Diego State studying biology/forensic.
Melissa Martinez, daughter of José and Maila Martinez. She will be attending at West Hills Firebaugh campus, studying ag education.
Agustin Lopez, son of Augustine Lopez and LuLu Meza. He will be attending Grand Canyon University of Arizona studying music education.
It was our honor to, once again, participate and pledge our investment in the future of these distinctive academically, and outstanding Firebaugh High graduating seniors.
These recipients were carefully selected. The application requires essays and a sit-down interview.
Our committee found they exemplified dedication to all areas of their young lives. They have excelled in academics. They have been able to balance home life along with school, including extracurricular activities on campus and off-campus.
These three recipients have shown to be goal setters throughout their school years. They have been proven leaders in many on campus organizations.
We, the Eagle Wall of Honor, as part of the Firebaugh High school alumni, wish to congratulate them on their accomplishments, and look forward to learning about their college success. As a community we are very proud of all our FHS graduating class of 2023.
The Eagle Wall of Honor scholarships are made possible by the annual dinner and silent auction fundraiser. which will be held on Nov. 4 this year.
Our 2023 fundraiser dinner will return to Firebaugh, this year at the rodeo grounds, please save the date! Plan on joining us to also celebrate the selection and induction of three new Eagle Wall of Honor inductees.
