On Tuesday, March 21, the Pacheco Panthers boys’ volleyball team defeated the Beyer Patriots in three straight sets to record a conference victory. Pacheco used a balanced scoring attack to close out Beyer, as three Panthers, Ryan Reyes (15 points), Jacob Orozco (14 points) and Ismael Martinez (12 points) all were in double figures on the night.

In the first set, Beyer could not return the serve of Anthony Medina for the 25th and deciding point in the Panther’s 25-23 victory.

In set number two, Adrian Sanchez served up the winning point as Beyer hit his shot out of bounds in the Panther’s 25-11 victory.

In the final set of the match, Pacheco claimed a 25-20 set victory when David Fernandez dropped a shot just over the net that the Patriots could not return.

After the match, Ryan Reyes said, “We beat them in three straight sets, but we could have won a lot easier if it were not for a lot of sloppy shots.”
