California Assemblymember for District 27, Esmeralda Soria held her Annual, “Women Leading the Way” brunch and awards ceremony Saturday, March 25,

 at the Madera Municipal Golf Course in conjunction with Women’s History Month.

Fifteen women from her district were recognized for their work. Two from the Westside of Merced County who received awards were Los Banos Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Michelle Sandoval and Patricia Ramos-Anderson who is a board member of the Santa Nella County Water District, President of the Merced County Chapter #3072 League of United Latin American Citizens and a member of the Central Valley Leadership Roundtable.

According to Soria’s office 127 women were nominated for the 15 awards. Soria’s invitation to the honorees stated, “Your tireless work and dedication is unparalleled, and you are a true role model for young women in your community and across the Central Valley.”

A Folkloric performance group from the Planada Elementary School District entertained the audience during the ceremony.
