Raymundo Mendez Castro, 68, a resident of Dos Palos, passed away on February 21, 2023. Raymundo was born on June 12, 1954 in San Luis del Cordero, Durango to Raymundo Mendez and Marina Castro. Raymundo met and married Fabiana Jimenez. Together they had five children: Sergio, Ivan, Raymundo Jr., Jessica, and Noel. All of the children reside in or around Dos Palos. Raymundo was a loyal, dedicated husband, father, and employee with an unmatched work ethic. He spent most of his life, nearly 50 years, working for Michael [Harold] O’Banion Ranches. When not working, Raymundo had a passion for animals. His afternoons and weekends were spent tending to his chickens, sheep, horses, and cattle.
Raymundo was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Maria Luisa, Beatriz, and Teresa . He is survived by his children and 12 grandchildren: Aaron, Jair, Ivan Jr. Anahi, Maddie, Aliza, Benji, Mehla, Nolan, Dahlia, Noel Jr., and Joel.
Services will be held on Monday, March 6 at Sacred Heart Church.
