On Monday, Oct. 24, the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) held its tennis finals.

Los Banos Tiger Kloe Cotta defeated Myra Martin from Beyer high school in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-0, to claim the singles championship. Cotta was also named Most Valuable Player for the WAC for the 2022 tennis season.

Tiger Melina Mejia lost in the semi-finals to Martin by a 6-4 score and then teamed with Hailee Moore in the doubles matches. Mejia and Moore advanced in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division Two tournament on Monday, Oct. 31, to be held in Los Banos, against Mira Loma.

The Tigers are seeded 4th in the section, and Cotta will defend her home court in singles against Mira Loma.
