If you have never been a member of the Los Banos Golden Agers, there is a special for new members who sign up at the Los Banos Parks and Recreation’s Salute to Seniors event on Sept. 30.
If you join the Golden Agers on Sept. 30 between the hours of 9 to 11 a.m., your $10 membership will be good for the rest of the 2022 year and all of 2023. That’s 15 months for the price of 12!
If you are unfamiliar with the Salute to Seniors event, you are missing a great day. This year marks the 37th annual Salute to Seniors, which is sponsored by the Los Banos Parks and Recreation Department and held at the Los Banos Community Center.
From 9 until 11 there will be informational booths and giveaways in the gym (that’s where you will find the Golden Agers booth to start your Golden Agers membership.) Entry to the gym is free as are the coffee and donuts.
At 11 a.m. the event moves to the Grand Room for a ticketed luncheon ceremony. Tickets for the luncheon are $12. There will be a Senior Recognition Ceremony prior to lunch. Following lunch, bingo will be played for those who purchased tickets to the luncheon.
Tickets are limited and are available at the Community Center, by check or money order only. The ticket purchase cutoff date is this week. And no tickets will be sold at the door.
