A pitcher and an outfielder head this year’s West Sierra League selections for softball.

Righthander LeeAnn Raney of Dos Palos and centerfielder Emmie Walker of Coalinga were picked as the co-most valuable players of the WSL in a vote of league coaches.

The best defensive players picked were Dos Palos catcher Talyn Lerma and Neveah Reed of Coalinga.

Both Raney and Lerma will be continuing their softball careers in college.  Lerma has signed with San Diego Christian College and Raney has signed to play at the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Selected as the best offensive player was Devree Godinez of Coalinga and her Horned Toad teammate, Genesis Barrera, was picked as the underclassman of the year. 

The utility players of the year was Miyah Reeves of Coalinga and Breann Raney of Dos Palos.

Dos Palos players selected to the first team were Annysa Santoyo, Kiley Lish, and Abigail Coronado.  Firebaugh players picked to the first team were Alyssa Mora and Anabelle Alaniz. 

Mendota Aztecs named to the first team were Aubrey Garcia and Heidi Henriquez.  Teresa Lopez of Tranquillity rounds out the first team.

Second Team selections were: Lola Martin (Coalinga), Monica Llamas (Dos Palos), Bethany Mendoza and Elena Serna (Firebaugh), Marilyn Jimenez and Litzy Melo (Mendota), and Samantha Magana (Tranquility).
