According to Los Banos Police Chief Ray Reyna, on May 15 at about 7:48 a.m., city personnel were completing a regularly scheduled clean-up at the G Street homeless encampment.

During the clean-up, an adult female was injured while city crews were picking up a pile of debris using a backhoe equipped with a hydraulic bucket.

Emergency personnel responded quickly to the scene and immediately began rendering aid while waiting for the arrival of an ambulance.

The woman sustained injuries to her face and upper body. She was transported by helicopter to a Modesto-area hospital for treatment.

She was reported to be conscious and alert at the time of transport.

This incident remains under investigation.
