Future Farmers of America (FFA) week is a national celebration that is observed by various chapters across the nation. This year’s FFA week was Feb. 15 through Feb. 22.

Students at Dos Palos High School celebrated the nationwide event in various ways. They started off strong by planning a dress up week that not only encouraged FFA members to participate, but everybody else as well.

Kicking off the week on Tuesday was “Farmer’s Day Off,” where students were encouraged to come dressed in their pajamas. Wednesday was “Here By The Flag,” a day for students to show up in their red, white and blue, representing the colors of the American flag.

On Thursday, they encouraged students to either dress up as part of the country club or to dress up as the country. They labeled the day “Country vs. Country Club.” On Friday, students in FFA were encouraged to wear their FFA attire.

Along with the week of dress up days, FFA had its annual carnival on Feb. 21. The FFA carnival was held during the last hour of the school day. The carnival was put together by the FFA club, which consisted of different activities for students to participate in.

They had music playing from older to newer songs. The carnival also had some things to eat, such as popcorn. What was most popular among students were the snow cones, varying in flavors such as blue raspberry and cherry.

The carnival also had different games and activities to choose from, such as musical chairs and tug-of-war. Other games included eating doughnuts on a string and water pong.

During the carnival, they also announced the winner of Dos Palos High School’s 2025 FFA Sweetheart contest. This year’s winner was sophomore Kaliah Soares. Overall, the week was great from the carnival to the dress up days.
