The Pacheco Panther JV volleyball team used the tremendous serving by Princeton Cappalla and Arvin Veronica and the potent offense by Adan Soto (12 points) and Siaosi “George” Vai (8 points) to defeat the Beyer Patriots in three sets.
After dropping the first set to the Patriots by the score of 25 to 22, the Panthers came roaring back to tie the match in the second set. Beyer could not return Jacob Martinez’s serve for the winning point as Pacheco defeated Beyer by the score of 25-19.
In the third and final set, Veronica held serve for the last eight points, recording five points of his own as the Panthers won the set and the match by the final score of 15 to 7.
After the match, Cappella said, “This was a really good team victory tonight. It was a lot of fun.”
