The Los Banos Tigers girls basketball squad split their last two games of the 2026 Central California Conference (CCC) season, and by virtue of their overall record, qualified for the Sac-Joaquin section basketball playoffs.
On Feb. 10, the Tigers girls defeated the Buhach Colony Thunder by 56–31 to win their fifth CCC game. Los Banos used a balanced offense to total their 56 points. Cienna Howard (12 points, two rebounds) paced the Los Banos offense.
She was followed by Kanin Welch (11 points, four rebounds), Brooke Barton (8 points, one rebound), Siena Freitas (7 points, four rebounds), Katelyn Ramirez (6 points, two rebounds), Devanie Vargas (4 points), Victoria De La Torre (4 points) and Avery Vierra (4 points).

On Feb. 12, however, the Tigers had no answer for the speed and defense of the El Capitan Gauchos, dropping a 69–28 decision to the Gauchos in Merced.
Welch (9 points) led the Tigers offense, followed by Freitas (8 points), Barton (6 points) and Ramirez (3 points).
Los Banos was to have hosted Rio Vista last night in the first round of the playoffs. Results were not available at press time.
