If you want to go to medical school, don’t major in pre-med—minor in pre-med and major in something completely different that you love.
If you major in pre-med, your application will be with hundreds of other pre-med or biology majors, and you will need to do an extra year of volunteer work, among other things, to get into the medical school you want.
But if you major in software development, the medical school will say, “Pre-med was your minor, and you only got a B? But you majored in software development! We will give you three scholarships. Please come here!
