On World Social Work Day, Merced County Substance Use Disorders Prevention Specialist Amy Bonillas complimented Christina Martinez, LCSW, chosen as one of Assemblywoman Esmeralda Soria’s 2025 Women Leading the Way Award recipients for the 27th Assembly District.

“Christina, your dedication to our small community and your leadership have made a lasting impact on all the lives you touch. This recognition is truly well-deserved,” Bonillas said of Martinez and her efforts.

Martinez also writes a regular column for The Westside Express, “Mental Health Matters.”

The office of Assemblywoman Esmeralda Soria will honor Martinez, the Los Banos Westside Community Counseling Center program manager, at the Women Leading the Way Awards Ceremony on March 29.
