Council to change 5-0 vote to remove city manager to simple majority
The Los Banos City Council has introduced an ordinance that would change the process for removing or suspending the city manager, requiring a minimum of three council members to approve such action.
Ordinance No. 1206, introduced on Feb. 5, would amend Section 2-3.126 of the Los Banos Municipal Code. If adopted, the ordinance would take effect 30 days after its final passage.
The City Council is set to consider the ordinance for adoption at its next meeting on Feb. 19.
A full copy of the proposed ordinance is available at the City Clerk’s Office, 520 J Street.
