Justin Hurd had a great sophomore year playing football for the Dos Palos Broncos, and it did not go unnoticed.
He was awarded First Team All-League for Defensive Linemen, Defensive Lineman of the Year for the Broncos and Defensive Lineman of the Year for the West Sierra League.
One of his biggest accomplishments of the season was being invited to compete at the Army Bowl National Combine held in Frisco, Texas.
Hurd competed against some of the best athletes in the nation of his class. He excelled at the one vs. one drills, agility drills and defensive lineman drills.
He also recorded the best broad jump for the defensive lineman group this year.
Hurd said, “I am honored to compete against some of the best athletes in the nation and am looking forward to competing at the combine again next year.”
His off-season training will consist of varsity wrestling and track for Dos Palos High School and continuing to work on his strength, agility and footwork.
Hurd’s 3.7 GPA backs his goal of playing college football. “I look forward to training and going to combines and camps to continue to reach my goal of playing college football,” he said.
