The Los Banos Tiger girls basketball team defeated crosstown rivals Pacheco Panthers on Nov. 19 in the annual Foundation basketball game.

The gym at Los Banos high school was packed to the rafters with local high school basketball fans, as the Tigers defeated the Panthers 58 to 35.

The Lady Tigers used a very balanced offence to total their 44 points, with Cassidy Barcellos leading the way with 12 points, followed by Serina Howard with 10, and Brook Barton, Sienna Freitas and Kanin Welch all adding eight points for Los Banos.

Sasha Siemiller was the lone bright spot for the Panthers, as the Pacheco Senior netted a game high total of 17 points in a losing effort.

On Friday night Nov. 21, the Lady Tiger basketball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 42-21 victory over the Central Valley Hawks from Ceres.

Kanin Welch paced the Tiger offense with 13 points, followed by Serina Howard with eight points, Kaitlen Ramirez with seven, Cassidy Barcellos had five and Brook Barton and Sienna Freitas added four points each for Los Banos.

Barton, Freitas and Barcellos each grabbed four rebounds to pace the Tiger defense, while Avery Vierra dished out four assists to aid the Los Banos offense.
