Rebecca Salinas has recently been named the Pacheco High School interim principal. Salinas has stepped into this role as the previous PHS principal, Dan Sutton, has been promoted to assistant superintendent of secondary education.
Salinas has previously served as the learning director at Pacheco High, the principal for high school summer school, and the vice principal of Los Banos Junior High School. In addition to her administration roles, Salinas has taught physical education at the Los Banos Junior High and has 20 years of coaching experience working with several sports.
With 25 years of experience in education and nine years in administration, Salinas believes that her “abundant experience” has led to her current position. She believes in “doing what’s best for the kids,” which is inspired by one of her past P.E. teachers who had demonstrated that to her.
By carrying over this philosophy, Salinas aims to “foster a supportive, collaborative, and innovative environment where students and staff can thrive.” Salinas believes in building good relationships with her staff as it “really aids the success of students.”
Salinas plans to be socially involved on campus and to “get little things done at a time.” She said she is honored by the opportunity to lead the school and hopes to build on the Pacheco school culture.
