Pacheco swim was busy last Thursday and Friday hosting two days of meets at the Pacheco pool. Dos Palos and Los Banos came for a tri-meet on Thursday that was an unscored exhibition.  

Friday afternoon the Panthers returned to league action hosting the Johansen Vikings.  The Panther boys team pushed their league record to 2-0 with a convincing 130-35 victory.  Pacheco’s girls earned their first WAC win of the season, defeating the Vikings 107-57.

Highlighting the wins were relay teams from both the boys and girls along with a strong finish for a first time swimmer. 

Magelli Roxas competed in the 500 Freestyle for the first time and brought home a first place finish for the Panther boys. Also on the boys side, the 200 freestyle relay team qualified for sections in just their second meet of the season. The team of Ernesto DeSantiago, Steve Pimentel, Isaiah Caballero and Eirvin Rubio brought the qualifying time.

The girls had two strong finishes standout in their relay teams as well. The varsity 200 medley team and 200 freestyle relay teams finished first, just a couple of seconds off of section qualifying times. The medley team consists of Makenzie Shryock, Shellsea Ramos, Samantha Ceja and Aliyana Loretto. The freestyle team is made up of Ramos, Loretto, Ceja and Rubi Mendez.

The teams are back in action on Thursday as they will host Lathrop High. This is a change in the original schedule due to pool issues at Lathrop High.
