The annual Hometown Throwdown cookoff and car show took place Saturday, June 18 at the Los Banos Fairgrounds. Organizers Eric and Steve Gallichio said that 26 barbecue teams competed in backyard and competition divisions.

Kansas City Barbecue Society trained judges awarded first, second and third places to teams barbecuing chicken, pork ribs and tri-tip.

In conjunction with the barbecue competition was a car and motorcycle show.

1920-1939 — Christian Paradiso with a 1937 Ford Street Rod

1940-1959 —  Jeremy Meneze with a 1955 Chevy Bel Air

1960-1979 —  Scott Crist with a 1968 Chevy K10 “Special K”

1980-1999 — Jose Magana with a 1996 Chevy Impala SS

2000-2019 — Steve Nunes with a 2003 Chevy Corvette

Best Low Rider — Gilbert Real with a 1965 Chevy Impala

Best Motorcycle — Tony Bueno with a Harley Davidson

Committee Favorite — Scott Crist with a 1968 Chevy K10 “Special K”
