Firefighters from both Los Banos City Fire and Merced County Fire responded to a fire in the agriculture wood shop at Los Banos High School Friday, March 24, at 11:30 a.m. When they arrived, smoke was coming from exhaust vents on the roof. All students and staff were evacuated from the entire school and went to their assigned places on the athletic fields far away from any structures on campus while firefighters extinguished the fire and assessed the damages. Los Banos City Fire Chief, Paul Tualla said that the fire was contained to an exhaust unit. Cause of fire is still under investigation
