Behind the outstanding pitching by Junior Moxie Barton and the power hitting of Mattie Greenwood (5 for 6, 4 RBIs), Hallie Moore (5 for 6, 6 runs scored), and Barton’s perfect (7 for 7, 3 RBIs), the Lady Tiger softball team claimed two wins this past week.  Los Banos (1-0 WAC) defeated the Beyer Patriots by scoring 3 to 2 on Thursday and followed that win with a 9-2 victory over the Hilmar Yellowjackets on Friday.

Moore scored two of the Tiger’s three runs in the Beyer game, and Maliyah Salas added the third score for Los Banos.  Greenwood plated two runs, and Barton drove in the third Tiger run.  Barton pitched a complete game for the win.

In a make-up non-conference game, the Tigers defeated Hilmar 9-2, as Barton allowed only two hits and two unearned runs in the seven-inning complete game.  Lead-off batter Hallie Moore ( 3 for 4) scored four times, with Barton (4 for 4) driving her in three times and Mattie Greenwood (3 for 4) plating Moore twice.  Isabel Orozco completed the scoring for Los Banos when she slammed a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
