For the second week in a row the Dos Palos Bronco varsity football team came up just short, this time against Summerville, dropping a 34-28 decision last Friday night August 26, 2022.

The game was back and forth all night with six different lead changes along the way.

Summerville scored first to take a 7-0 lead when Dean Trimeloni scored the first of his four touchdowns on a 32 yard bolt early in the first period.

Dos Palos tied the score at 7-7 when Peyton Van Worth scored on an eight yard touchdown run.

Austin Hike gave Summerville back the lead at 14-7, when he scored on an eight yard touchdown run.On the ensuing kickoff, Elias Esquivel rambled 99 yards for a touchdown and the Broncos knotted the score at 14-14.

Bronco Mike Cantu gave Dos Palos their first lead of the night at 21-14 when he scored on a seven yard run.

Trimeloni added a 17 yard touchdown, to make it 21-20 in favor of Dos Palos, as Summerville missed the conversion kick.

Cantu scored his second touchdown of the game on a 20 yard run and the Bronco lead was 28-20.

Summerville came right back when Trimeloni scored from 5 yards out making the score 28-26 in favor of the Broncos. Late in the fourth quarter, Trimeloni sealed the victory for Summerville, scoring his fourth touchdown from 17 yards out and with the two-point conversion, Summerville had a 34-28 win over the Broncos.
