Over 100 community members participated in the sixth annual Los Banos Elementary School Color Run Saturday, March 11, at Garden Park V on Persimmon Street in Los Banos. The annual fundraising event combines a 5 kilometer run or walk course with the throwing of chalk dust on participants at specific locations along the course. Pacheco High School students as well as members of the Los Banos High School band played songs of encouragement along the route. They were selling snacks at the Fun Run. The boys are the sons of Fernando Pena, a seventh year math teacher at Creekside Junior High. He too was in attendance as a Scout Master; and Jaclyn Ritchie with Los Banos Elementary School, left, awards each participant with a beaded necklaces after completing the course.
