Henry Miller Elementary School was built in 1953 and Lorena Falasco was the principal. During that school’s first Christmas she started a tradition whereby all of the students would gather around the Christmas Tree and sing Christmas songs.
And so, it has been done every year since then with the exception of the Covid year when all students were home.
Friday, Dec. 16 school Principal Stacia Rains arranged for all 720 students to be seated around the Christmas Tree outside while school choir director Pam Smith led everyone in many Christmas songs.
The highlight of the event was when Santa arrived in a golf cart and joined in the singing and dancing while handing out candy to the students.
