On Saturday, Oct. 29, San Luis National Wildlife Refuge will hold its first-ever bat walk!  Join us at 6 p.m. in the visitor center when wildlife biologist Fumika Takahashi will give a brief presentation on bats of the wildlife refuge and talk about the ongoing acoustic bat monitoring program that is providing refuge managers information about what species of bats live on the refuge and when they’re here.  After the presentation, participants can join Fumika out on the nature trail where she will demonstrate the equipment used to monitor the bats and, perhaps locate some.  For more information call the visitor center at 209-826-3508, ext. 127.
