On Aug 1 in downtown Los Banos, the Los Banos Police Department will sponsor “The National Night Out.” The Tuesday evening event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m.at the intersection of J and Fifth Streets.

The community is invited to an evening of food, live music and fun. There is no admission charge.

National Night Out is a nationwide event for many in law enforcement. Many communities take part in national night out by making time to engage with their communities.

Los Banos Police Cmdr. Justin Melden said, “It gives us time to have law enforcement interact with the community and have the community interact with us.”

The men and women of law enforcement in Los Banos love to do so, Melden said, especially on National Night Out. They get excited to see the community’s reaction to all that takes place that evening.

The local community can expect various games, entertainment, and food. The police department is also hosting a raffle. There will also be giveaways from their various partner businesses. Many members of the law enforcement will be there available to answer questions and talk with people in the community.

When asked what their goal was in bringing the night out to Los Banos, Melden said that it was to provide a safe and exciting event for members of the community to enjoy themselves. The police department wants families to come and be able to have a safe place for a nice time.

Melden said this is the way for the police department to show that they could be a support system for their community. It’s also a time for people in the community to interact with each other in a positive way.

Members of the police department are happy to see that the community has enjoyed this safe and positive event for over a decade now. Melden is glad to see all the work put in to make this event happen and that the men and women of the force department look forward to this year’s National Night Out to enjoy the environment and the many interactions.

Melden added, “if you are on the fence about coming out, please come and join us for some great food, entertainment, games and fun”. The members of the police department of Los Banos hope to see many of you there to enjoy a fun, safe and exciting event, he said.
