June was dairy month and it’s a time for our family to share the amazing story of sustainability in what we do to produce food for our local and far-away communities around the globe.
We are a first generation dairy family. We started our California dream just six years ago when we had the privilege of buying the dairy from our neighbor.
Today our team milks 1,050 jersey cows. Over the time we have been dairymen we strive to be a great place to work and have done our best to attract and retain people who have the desire to be part of a team and work toward big goals.
We recently were awarded the “Cream of the Crop” award for highest milk quality at Hilmar Cheese which is where our milk is processed. We have also been awarded the past five years the highest quantity of milk award for our breed and size in the Central Counties region.
It’s not awards we aim for, but they do highlight the tremendous efforts of our team and the dedication to food production we have as a modern dairy farm.
While the future has its challenges, we know that there is a place for wholesome, delicious and nutritious dairy products on everyone’s plate or in everyone’s hands.
We pursue our dream of being farmers and at the same time work towards efficient, high milk yield to provide this important food and create valuable, worthy agriculture careers for many families. Maintaining a healthy dairy community where people who produce food can be celebrated for their effort and be fulfilled in their careers is our goal.
Celebrating June dairy month was a fun thing for us to do but wait to see what happens in July — ice cream month!
