Summer is upon us in all its heated glory. People are traveling from, to and through our area. St. John’s invites visitors to our services, held on Sundays beginning at 9 a.m.

As is the case annually, our Sunday School program is on hiatus until September 11. On that day, we will hold our annual Rally Day after service, to which everyone is invited for fun, games and some hotdogs.

On the third Friday of each month, St. John’s holds a Family Game Night. Our next will be July 15, beginning at 6 pm in our Parish Hall (250 W. Adams St.).

It’s a pot-luck supper followed by an evening of playing cards, dominos or whatever suits your fancy in a setting away from the TV. Children are encouraged to join us, accompanied, of course.

Our Christian Preschool is on summer vacation, resuming enrollment in mid-July and classes in mid-August. Our state-registered program for students 3-4 years old, who are fully potty trained, is taught by Jamey Knorr, assisted by Sarah Posey.

The program is designed to prepare students for kindergarten. The enrollment is limited to 12. There are a few limited slots available at this time. See our website at www.st-johnsLB.org to contact us, if interested.

We pray a safe summer for all, whether traveling or just hanging out around town. Peace be unto you.
