Los Banos residents have an opportunity to double the value of purchases made at participating local businesses through a program called “RAD Card.”
Last December the Los Banos City Council voted to put some of their $2.5 million allocation in federal stimulus funds into the RAD Card program, which other Central Valley cities also participate in.
Through this program Los Banos residents can double their dollars when they make purchases at participating Los Banos businesses, including restaurants, retail shops and services and other commercial establishments, while funds last. And currently funds are still available.
The program is designed to help local small businesses as well as the persons who patronize them.
According to the RAD Card web site, Los Banos residents simply download an app, select Los Banos and then add any amount of funds from $50 to $200. Their money is then doubled and can be used at any of the participating local businesses, with no expiration date.
To participate, Los Banos residents first download on their cell phone the RAD Card app from their app store, then choose Los Banos as their home location. The next step is to add funds to their RAD card and watch the funds be doubled automatically.
They can then spend the funds like a gift card at any at any participating Los Banos RAD Card businesses, which can be found on the website THERADCARD.com or on the app.
