On April 23 the Los Banos Unified School District held a drive-through District English Language (EL) Reclassification Ceremony. Annually EL students (whose first language is not English) work to be reclassified as Fluent English Proficient.
Fluency is demonstrated by meeting the following criteria: 1) Basic Skills 2) English Proficiency 3) Teacher Evaluation and 4) Parent Notification.
This year 286 students qualified for reclassification. Honorees received a certificate of achievement, a swag bag and an opportunity to take a commemorative photograph.
The District is proud of these students for their achievements and appreciative of Alberto Verduzco for organizing the well-attended event. Thanks also goes out to the administrators, school board members, and community leaders who came out in support of Los Banos students
