Hello, everyone! My name is Braulio Gonzalez. I am 21 years old and from Waterford, Calif. I am a middle child with two sisters and have two cats and two dogs. I am currently a fourth-year undergraduate at CSU Stanislaus, working towards a BA in Studio Art.
I imagine myself having a career in digital media, specifically in either graphic design or videography. I am inspired by digital content creation in both marketing and video editing. This inspiration first emerged during my senior year in high school. I was unsure of what career I wanted to pursue until I took on photography for my senior project, where I was exposed to taking photos and editing.
Besides these, I am also interested in sports, television and fitness. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going to the gym and watching baseball. I grew up playing and watching baseball, so naturally, it is my favorite sport. Outside of the Westside Express, I work as a substitute paraeducator for Stanislaus County and as a JV boys volleyball coach at Waterford High School.
I came across the Westside Express via a suggestion by my Visual Arts Internship professor, Jessica Gomula-Kruzic. I wasn’t sure of what to expect, but after meeting the team, I can say I am very excited for the opportunity to join as a student journalist. While I do not have much of a background in journalism, I hope to gain experience with writing journalistic pieces and sharpen my writing skills while working on stories related to the community.
