The Westside Express The Los Banos City Council is seeking applicants who live in District 2 to apply for the open seat vacated by Evan Sanders. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Fri., March 6. The decision to appoint was decided at the March 4 Los Banos City Council meeting in a three to one vote. Mayor Pro Tem Deborah Lewis voting no. Those interested have two days to file an application for the position. Applicants must be 18 years old, a registered voter, and reside in District 2. Applications can be done in person at Los Banos City Hall, 520 J St. or on the city’s website, www.LosBanos.org According to Los Banos City Manager Nirorn Than, an online application on the city’s website will be open around noon on March 5. Applicants will go through a public interview process at a special meeting of the Los Banos City Council on Mon., March 9. The current council members will then vote on the applicants to decide the final appointee. The deadline under state law to appoint someone to the position is March 10.
