On Wednesday and Friday of this past week, all three Tigers boys basketball teams hosted the Golden Valley Cougars and the Buhach Colony Thunder in Central California Conference (CCC) action.

The Tigers freshman team (2–2 in the CCC) came away with victories in both contests, defeating the Cougars 55–52. Then, they claimed a 49–28 victory over the Thunder.

Jax Jorge (19 points, four rebounds) paced the Tigers against Golden Valley, followed by Grayson Houtekamer (14 points, 14 rebounds), Giovanni Oates (8 points, four rebounds), Adrian De La Cruz (7 points, five rebounds) and Braden Silva (4 points, six rebounds).

Against Buhach Colony, Houtekamer (11 points, 10 rebounds) and De La Cruz (11 points, six rebounds) led the way for Los Banos, followed by Silva (8 points, seven rebounds), Andrew Loretto (7 points, nine rebounds) and Carlos Reynoso (6 points, three rebounds), who completed the Tigers’ victory.

In JV action, the Tigers (1–3 CCC) came up 1 point short against Golden Valley, dropping a 51–50 decision to the Cougars.

Los Banos rebounded nicely against Buhach Colony, handing the Thunder a 45–29 defeat for the Tigers’ first CCC league victory in 2026.

Jacob Castro (22 points, five rebounds) led the way for Los Banos, followed by Zaevin Cancino (13 points, 10 rebounds), Jaxon Mancebo (12 points, seven rebounds), Issac Garza (8 points, three rebounds), Maggio Carter (4 points, nine rebounds) and Raymond Garcia (2 points, two rebounds), who accounted for the Tigers’ victory.

Tigers varsity (1–3 CCC) claimed their first victory of the 2026 season with a 1-point 53–52 win over the Cougars (0–4 CCC).

The Tigers completed 64 percent of their floor shots (16 of 25), 40 percent from the 3-point range (6 of 15) and 50 percent (1 of 2) from the free throw line, limiting their low percentage shots.

Jacob Camarillo (15 points, one rebound) led the offense, followed by Eric Ramos (14 points, two rebounds), Damien Osegueda (6 points, 2 points) and Jack Goodger, who paced the Los Banos defense with nine rebounds.

However, against the Buhach Colony Thunder, the Tigers’ shooting percentages dropped significantly, 46 percent (12 of 26) from the floor, 23 percent (5 of 21) from the 3-point range and 100 percent (6 of 6) from the free throw line, resulting in a 58–45 loss to the Thunder.

All three Tigers teams will be in action on Jan. 8 when they travel to Merced to play the El Capitan Gauchos, with the freshman game beginning at 4:15 p.m.
