Dear Fellow Citizens of Los Banos,
My name is Kalid Sanchez, though many of you know me as Virry. I have been a part of the Los Banos community for the past five years, and I am proud to call it my long-term home.
I am a graduate of UC Merced and bring over 15 years of experience in agricultural finance, currently working for Meena Farms. Additionally, I am raising my five kids here. I also own a home and a local business, Virrys Boutique.
The importance of a great Los Banos is a top priority for me, not only because this is my home, but also because I deeply care for our families and our community.
Many of you have seen me around hosting community events, and I have had the honor of serving as the secretary of the Los Banos Chamber of Commerce. Being involved with the community isn’t new to me—it’s what I love to do.
This time around, it’s not just about me—it’s about all of us. I want to be the voice we need to speak up for our community. I am not afraid, and no one can stop me from speaking up.
Making up things about me will not deter me. The Los Banos community is smarter than that and knows the reality of things. Actions speak louder than fake words.
I am committed to helping our city and am diligently preparing for office by familiarizing myself with every department in Los Banos.
Throughout my campaign, I have conducted numerous meet-and-greets to hear directly from you, the citizens, because you are whom I would love to represent. I have walked the streets, going door to door, and have spoken with many of you.
I have visited parks where activities for our kids, like soccer, take place, and I have listened to all your concerns. I have attended community meetings hosted by the City of Los Banos and expressed my concerns, such as during the Park Talks with the mayor.
I have also done ride-alongs and tours with our local police and fire departments, and I have visited our homeless encampments. I regularly attend our community events. I’ve always supported our local events.
These are just a few of the things I have done and continue to do actively. Let my actions speak for me. Let my actions show that I care. Let my actions show that I am the best for Los Banos. Vote Kalid Sanchez for City Council District 1!
