Mendota High School is proud to share the exciting news of the accomplishment of student Sandra Melchor Toledo, who was awarded the title of Superintendent Superstar this past April. Dr. Michele Cantwell-Copher, the Fresno County superintendent of schools, presented the award.
Toledo is a senior at Mendota High School and will be attending UC Berkeley in the fall. Mendota High School Counselor Laura Villar nominated her and other students to be considered for this recognition.
Travis Kirby, the school principal, chose Toledo as the school’s representative to be considered.
After arriving from Guatemala, Toledo started her United States education program in third grade. She has exceeded all the opportunities Mendota High School offers to better herself, support her community and gain knowledge and skills for her future.
Toledo’s academic accomplishments include graduating with a 4.64 GPA, being recognized as the outstanding senior at the Mendota Future Farmers of America (FFA) banquet and ranking No. 4 academically in the class of 2025.
Toledo is a true inspiration to students and recognizes that everything is possible with hard work, dedication and perseverance.
