As of 5 p.m. on Nov. 26 all mail-in, early voting, conditional, provisional, and Election Day ballots have been counted, and there are no unprocessed votes in Merced County. There were still votes unprocessed in Fresno County. The final tallies must be certified by the county elections offices.
In Los Banos, there are no changes in the most recent count. Los Banos mayor’s race is led by former Los Banos Mayor Micheal Amabile with 5,564 votes (43.59%). Amabile is followed by Refugio Llamas with 4,421 ballots (34.63%). Current Los Banos Mayor Paul Llanez sits at 2,718 ballots (21.29%). The total number of votes counted in the race is 12,765.
For Los Banos Council District 1, incumbent Kenneth Lambert leads with 1,367 votes (52.22%). His challenger Tommy Leyva trails 140 votes behind with 1,227 votes (46.87%).
For Los Banos Council District 4, incumbent Deborah Lewis leads 52.78% of the vote, or 1,640
individual voters. Her challenger Travis Loebig has 1,455 votes (46.83%).
The recall of Los Banos Councilmember Doug Begonia Jr., in District 2, is currently succeeding
with 81.63% of the vote, or 2,671 voters. The vote against rests at 601 votes (18.37%).
The recall of Los Banos Councilmember Brett Jones, in District 3, is currently succeeding with
2,579 votes(75.52%). The vote against rests at 836 votes (24.48%).
The Los Banos Unified School District, Area 4, currently has Luis Castro leading with 1,008 votes (65.71%). The Incumbent Gary E Munoz currently has 516 votes (33.64%).
Measure P on the Westside of n Merced County for the expansion and growth of the Los Banos Campus of Merced College is succeeding with 12,246 votes (76.77%). 3,706 votes are against (23.23%). The measure requires 55 percent to pass.
Measure R in Merced County is currently failing with 44,626 votes (55.99%) with 35,079 votes against (44.01%). The bond measure requires a two-thirds majority to pass.
In the Dos Palos-Oro Loma Joint Unified School District Area 4, Lisa Areias leads with 250 votes (54.59%). Jasmin Goncalves has 205 votes (44.76%).
In Area 6 District, Frank Lemos leads with 305 votes (61.99%). His challenger Michael Bryant has 181 votes (36.79%).
For Dos Palos Mayor, Kathy Miller Reed ran unopposed and won 1,284 votes of 1,357 total (94.62%).
For Dos Palos Council Armando Bravo got 1,049(53.85%) votes and Marcus Porter had 867 votes (44.51%). They both will get a spot on the council.
The Santa Nella County Water District Directors election has four candidates, for three spots. John Schranz has taken the lead with 225 votes (32.01%), Susan Walker is second with 213 votes (3030%), followed by Stephen M. Landry with 178 votes (25.32%), and Wayne Tallman last at 75 votes (10.67%).
In the City of Firebaugh City Council election, four candidates ran for three seats. Currently, Elsa Lopez has 928 votes (33.53%), followed by Alfred Valdez with 886 (32.01%), and Brady Jenkins Jr., with 570 votes (20.59%). The certified write-in candidate, Veronica Navarro has 381 votes (13.76%).
Firebaugh voters were asked if they wanted the city clerk and city treasurer to be appointed rather than elected. In the city clerk race 862 voted yes (54.38%) and 723 voted no (45.62%). For the city treasurer, 845 voted yes (55.41%) and 680 voted no (44.59%). For both to pass, they must be 50 percent plus one vote).
Measure F in Firebaugh is passing 1,133 (65.04%) yes votes to 609 (34.96%) no votes. The measure is a Firebaugh-Las Deltas Unified School District School Bond. The measure requires 55 percent to pass.
For the Firebaugh-Las Deltas school board races in area Number 2, Maribel Muños is leading with 251 votes (56.53%). Deanne Crockett has 193 votes (43.47%). In the Number 3 area Robert Aguayo leads with 231 votes (60.95%). Abel Serrano has 148 votes (39.05%).
In the John Duarte vs. Adam Gray race, Gray is currently leading by 227 votes. Votes are still being counted with the totals so far being 105,083 votes Gray to 104,856 for Duarte. Final results will be released on Wed., Dec. 3.
