The Pacheco Panther JV volleyball team opened their 2023 conference season by sweeping the Johansen Vikings on Thursday, March 2, in Modesto.
Adan Soto (15 points, 3 Aces) paced the young Panthers to their two-match sweep over Johansen as he slammed home the winning 25th point in Pacheco’s 25-19 first-match victory.
Daniel Lopez closed out the Panther’s second match victory when his shot went undefended, and Pacheco defeated Johansen by 25-13. In addition to Soto’s outstanding game.
The Panthers received fine performances from Adrian and Corvin Veronica, and Siosa “George” Via, who were all over the court for the locals.
“This is my first year playing volleyball after playing soccer for over five years. I really had a lot of fun, and I’m glad the coaches have confidence in my ability,” Soto said before the matches.
