Come Nov. 8, there will be only one contested city election in Los Banos. Dennis Begonia, Jr. will be running against appointed incumbent Refugio Llamas to represent City Council District 2.

Since current mayor Tom Faria chose not to run and no one else filed by the Aug. 17 extended deadline, Paul Llanez will run unopposed for mayor. Incumbent council member Brett Jones will also be running unopposed, as will incumbent city clerk Lucy Mallonee.
