Solo vehicle pursuit ends with vehicle crashing into a Los Banos motel on Pacheco Boulevard.
According to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer, Shannon Stires, on July 28 at approximately 5:44 p.m., Merced Communication Center broadcast a call of an occupied stolen vehicle out of Scott’s Valley Police Department.
The stolen vehicle, a 2015 silver Ford F250, was being tracked by the owner traveling eastbound on State Route 152 toward the Los Banos City limits.
CHP Officers Issac Gutierrez and Salomon Ramirez responded to the location of the Ford. The CHP units were notified by a motorist the Ford was involved in a property damage only hit and run.

At approximately 5:52 p.m., CHP officers located the vehicle traveling eastbound on Pacheco Boulevard and activated their lights and siren to pull the truck over.
The Ford failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued. The Ford traveled at speeds of approximately 45 miles per hour and crashed into a second vehicle on Pacheco Boulevard, west of J Street.
At 5:54 p.m. the vehicle slowed to approximately 35 miles per hour and Officer Gutierrez executed a successful Precision Immobilization Technique maneuver, causing the Ford to lose control and crash into the side of the Hometown Inn, located at 968 Pacheco Boulevard.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect, Elliette Alvarez, age 19 of Fresno, was medically cleared at Los Banos Memorial and was transported to Merced County Jail. Alvarez claimed no injuries and was medically cleared for precaution.
The Ford sustained major front-end damage as a result of at least three crashes. The Hometown Inn sustained a damaged window and door. It was deemed to not have any significant structural damage by Los Banos Fire personnel.
It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this crash.
