Following a tough 8-5 loss to Lathrop on Tuesday, Pacheco hosted the Spartans on Thursday for the annual senior day game.  Before the first pitch five seniors were recognized playing in their final home game as a Panther.  Seniors honored were left fielder Brandon Quintanar, first baseman Alvaro Garrido Jr, center fielder Zealand Hatcher, second baseman Dylan Alpi and right fielder Anthony White.

Lathrop put pressure on Pacheco and freshman lefty Mario Rivera with an unearned run in the top of the first inning.  The Panthers would answer with a one out rally in the bottom of the inning.  Aidan Pikas was hit by a pitch before junior catcher Thomas Price drew a walk.  Rivera helped his cause with a single to load the bases.  Garrido was hit by a pitch that was followed by singles from Hatcher and freshman Danny Romero Jr.   By the end of the inning the Panthers would have a 5-1 lead.

Pikas led off the second with a double and score on a ground out by Price.  Rivera singled in his second at bat and came home on a groundout by Garrido, pushing the lead to 7-1.  Rivera hit a bump in the road during a four run fourth for the Spartans who only trailed 7-5 lead going to the bottom of the fourth.

Price and Rivera scored in the bottom of the fourth on an error helping extend the lead to 9-5.  Seeking a run rule shortened game Pacheco rallied again in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Alpi reached on a one out hit by pitch followed by Quintanar’s first varsity hit to center.  Pikas reached on his second hit by pitch before Price drove in a run on a sacrifice fly.  Tucker Kim, who entered the game on the mound in the top of the inning, doubled home two more runs before a two RBI single from Romero gave Pacheco a 14-5 lead.  An Alpi walk, Quintanar single, and Pikas walk would load the bases in the bottom of the sixth.  Price singled to score Alpi and end the game after six innings 15-5.
