Detectives with the Los Banos Police Department are investigating a shooting that left one man injured last Tuesday.

According to Commander Justin Melden, at approximately 8:04 p.m. on April 2, the department’s dispatch center received multiple reports of gunfire in the 2300 block of South Fallbrook Drive. Callers told dispatchers they heard several shots and reported that a male subject had been struck.

Responding officers arrived on scene and located an adult male victim inside a nearby residence. The man had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and officers also found a vehicle near the residence with its driver-side door riddled with bullet holes, Melden said.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital in the Modesto area for treatment and is expected to survive, according to Melden.

Detectives are actively pursuing leads in the case. “Additional information will be released as it becomes available,” Melden said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact Detective OIC Neal at 209-827-2520 or Detective O’Day at 209-827-2554.
