It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steve Creighton, who left us on March 20, 2025, at the age of 67. Steve spent his final moments at home, surrounded by family in Los Banos, California, where he built a life full of love and dedication.

Steve was born on December 7, 1957, in Pomona, California, to Jack and Lucy Creighton. He was raised in Fresno and Los Banos, where he graduated from Los Banos High School in 1976 before serving his country as a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge in 1981, Steve embarked on a long and successful career as a Soil and Water Consultant, dedicating over 40 years of his life to serving the land and people of California.

He was a man of character, integrity, and commitment, not only to his work but to his community. Steve was deeply involved in organizations such as the Touchdown Club, Sports Boosters, the Farm Bureau, VFW, Sportsman’s Club, Ag Boosters, Quail Unlimited and the Los Banos City Tree Commission, where he worked tirelessly to help preserve and improve the community he cherished.

Above all, Steve was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 44 years, Rochelle, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love. Steve was the proud father of Jennifer (Jason), Michael (Amanda), Andrew (Emellie), and Jack. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Ryan, Kaydence, Kennedy, Reagan, Harper, and Maverick. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and his love for them was immeasurable.

Steve’s memory will be cherished by his siblings William, Donna, John, and Kristin, as well as his extended family, which includes his nieces, nephews, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father Jack Creighton, mother Margaret “Lucy” Creighton, and brother Philip Creighton.

Steve’s life was a testament to hard work, loyalty, and love. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his generosity to his community. His legacy of humor, warmth, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service was held for family and friends at Whitehurst Chapel Wednesday, March 26th, 2025. Military Honors will follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Los Banos VFW Post 248.

Papa, you will be forever missed, but your memory will remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know you.
