The following results are preliminary and will change as the counties processes ballots. As of 11:02 a.m. on Nov 8 all ballots currently processed are mail-in, early voting, and Election Day ballots. Conditional/Provisional ballots have not yet been released in merced county. As of 11:02 a.m. on Nov 8 there are still 38,000 unprocessed votes in Merced County. There are still 100,000 votes unprocessed in Fresno county according to their last report to the state on Nov. 6.
Los Banos mayor’s race is currently led by former Los Banos Mayor Micheal Amabile with 3,005 votes (44.58%). Amabile is followed by Refugio Llamas with 2,260 ballots (33.53%). Current Los Banos Mayor Paul Llanez sits at 1,434 ballots (21.27%). The total number of votes counted is 6,741.
For Los Banos Council District 1, incumbent Kenneth Lambert currently has 648 votes (47.65%). His challenger Tommy Leyva leads with 700 votes (51.47%).
For Los Banos Council District 4, incumbent Deborah Lewis has 52.86% of the vote, or 895 individual voters. Her challenger Travis Loebig has 792 voters (46.78%).
The recall of Los Banos Councilmember Doug Begonia Jr., in District 2, is currently succeeding with 80.86% of the vote, or 1,352 voters. The vote against rests at 320 votes (19.14%).
The recall of Los Banos Councilmember Brett Jones, in District 3, is currently succeeding with 1,344 votes(72.85%). The vote against rests at 501 votes (27.15%).
The Los Banos Unified School District, Area 4, currently has Luis Castro leading with 505 votes (64.58%). The Incumbent Gary E Munoz currently has 273 votes (34.91%).
Measure P is currently succeeding with 6,280 votes (73.58%). 2,255 votes are against (26.42%).
Measure R is currently succeeding with 24,402 votes (57.78%) with 17,834 votes against (42.22%).
In the Dos Palos-Oro Loma Joint Unified School District Area 4, Lisa Areias leads with 145 votes (54.31%). Jasmin Goncalves has 122 votes (44.69%).
In Area 6 District, Frank Lemos leads with 181 votes(60.54%). His challenger Michael Bryant has 115 votes(38.46%).
The Santa Nella County Water Director election has 4 candidates. John Schranz leads with 132 votes (31.13%), Susan Walker follows with 124 votes (29.25%), followed by Stephen M. Landry with 115 votes (27.12%), and Wayne Tallman last at 44 votes (10.38%).
In the city of Firebaugh city council election, four candidates are running for three seats. Currently, Elsa Lopez has 620 votes (33.28%), followed by Aldred Valdez with 579 (31.08%), and Brady Jenkins Jr., with 381 votes (20.72%). The certified write-in candidate, Veronica Navarro has 142 votes(7.62%).
Firebaugh voters were asked if they wanted the city clerk and city treasurer to be appointed rather than elected. In the city clerk race 591 votes yes (56.61%) and 453 voted no (43.39%). For the city treasurer, 582 votes yes (58.03%) and 421 voted no (41.97%). In order for both to pass they must be 50 percent plus 1 vote).
Measure F in Firebaugh is passing 757 (66.35%) yes votes to 384 (33.65%) no votes. The measure is a Firebaugh-Las Deltas Unified School District School Bond. The measure requires 55 percent to pass.
For the Firebaugh-Las Deltas school board races in area Number 2, Maribel Muños is leading with 163 votes(55.07%). Deanne Crockett has 132 votes (44.59%). In the Number 3 area Robert Aguayo leads with 153 votes(60.24%). Abel Serrano has 101 votes(39.76%). Updated results will be posted as they are available.e available.
