Terry Brown, longtime resident of Los Banos and winner of the National Pro Cowboy Country Artist Association Male Vocalist, Songwriter, Album and Song of the Year, continues to have success now that he and his wife, award-winning trick roper and longtime Los Banos resident Hilda Brown, are living in Texas.
Brown and Machado moved from Los Banos to Wichita Falls, Texas, in April 2023 to further their careers. Their many friends in and around Los Banos continue to be interested in their work.
Here are some of their recent performances in April and May 2024.
Terry performed at the Hillcrest Private Country Club in Vernon, Texas, in April. He also sang in Clinton, Oklahoma, for “Friends on Frisco Avenue” outdoor series.
In April Hilda trickroped at The Kemp Center in Wichita Falls for the Arts for “Cowboy True” week honoring “Jack Slevins,, a famous Western sculptor from Wichita Falls
Terry also performed for the same event for “Dinner Under the Stars.” The dinner included chuckwagon cooking rib eye steaks Western style with cowboy beans, mashed potatoes, and peach cobbler–all outdoors on tables with white tablecloths.
Terry and Hilda also performed at the “Velvet Rodeo Saloon” in Wichita Falls.
In May Terry and Hilda flew to Weirsdale, Florida, where Terry was invited to sing at “The Orange Blossom Opry,” a tourist attraction where legendary musicians perform.
Terry also sang at Joe’s Bar and Grill in Llano, Texas, and then outdoors at the Fiesta Winery in Lomita, Texas.
In July Terry and Hilda are both getting ready for “National Day of the Cowboy” in Dublin, Texas. This is a yearly all-day event in a western theme, with all kinds of entertainment and booths, all in downtown Dublin
Hilda and Terry told The Westside Express that they continue to miss Los Banos, which will always have a special place in their hearts.
