A two-car head-on vehicle accident resulted in the death of both drivers on Thursday.
The California Highway Patrol responded at 9:45 p.m. July 26 to a vehicle accident on State Route 33 south of Christian Avenue.
Preliminary investigation by CHP Officer Williams indicates that a 75-year-old female from South Dos Palos, driving a 2015 Nissan south on State Route 33 south of Christian Avenue, at an unknown rate of speed, did not have her lights on.
An 18-year-old male from Dos Palos was driving a 2020 Honda north on State Route 33 south of Christian Avenue, also at an unknown rate of speed.
Due to reasons still under investigation, the male driver was traveling north in the southbound lane, with indications he was possibly passing another vehicle.
As a result both vehicles collided head on resulting in fatal injuries to both solo drivers. The female driver was not wearing her seatbelt.
Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this collision.
